LAKE ERIE FISHING LIMITS
Walleye
The daily bag limit is 6 per angler, with a minimum size limit of 15″ (per person per day, no possession limit)
Smallmouth Bass
The daily bag limit is 5 per angler with a 14″ minimum size limit, catch and release May 1st – last Saturday in June
Yellow Perch
30 per angler

OHIO SPORTFISHING LICENSES

A  fishing license is required to fish any Ohio waters.  Ohio sporting licenses operate on an annual cycle beginning March 1st and expiring on the last day of February of the following year.

A fishing license is not required of persons who are :

  • less than 16 yrs. of age

  • giving assistance to an angler who is physically disabled, provided the 2 persons together are using only 1 line

  • fishing in a private pond

  • fishing on land and water which they or their parents own

  • fishing on land and water where they or their parents are tenants on which they reside and from which they derive the majority of their income from agricultural production on that land ( except state owned lakes )

  • members of the U.S. Armed Forces on annual leave or furlough

NONRESIDENT LICENSE FEES
  • 1 day fishing license : $11.00
  • 3 day fishing license : $19.00
  • Annual fishing license : $40.00
RESIDENT LICENSE FEES
  • 1 day fishing license : $11.00

  • Annual fishing license : $19.00 (senior licenses $10.00 – 66 or older)
    ( 3 day tourist license not available to residents )

Smallmouth Fishing

Smallmouth bass out number largemouth bass in most Ohio streams, rivers and Lake Erie. They feed primarily on crayfish and other large aquatic invertebrates, but will also feed on a small fish and flying insects that fall on the water's surface.
